TREATMENTS
Dermal Fillers
Dr Bryan uses dermal fillers to plump and enhance areas that require volume and hydration. All our fillers are based on hyaluronic acid (HA), which is the body's own natural skin plumper and so has almost no risk of an allergic reaction.
Depending on the area that the filler needs to be placed, there are different consistencies of the gel. Some more fluid than others. Thinner or less dense fillers are used for surface areas like lips and crow's feet, and thicker ones are injected deeper into the cheeks to lift the lower face. This reduces jowls, marionette lines and gives you a less tired look. All the lip fillers
we use are fully reversible from the time they are administered, until the time they are re-absorbed. Well placed Lip Fillers enhance your own natural features, expertly placed it improves every aspect of your own lips without looking unnatural.
The body re-absorbs HA fillers within around 6-12 months but this can vary depending on many factors such as age, metabolism and the normal blood flow to the your face.
Dermal fillers can be used to reduce lines and folds, enhance and give volume in these areas:
- Lips
- Naso-labial folds NLF
- Cheeks
- Tear troughs
- Marionette lines
The fillers also have an element of local anaesthetic within them, this means that your filler injection is pain free and very
comfortable.
We will discuss aftercare and what to expect with you but you may get some redness in the area and bruising straight after.
For this reason, we do recommend that you allow a period of two weeks before any major event you may be attending.
Botulinum Toxin - Wrinkle and Line Reduction
Over the years lines and creases can appear on our face due to the muscular activity underneath the skin. These lines can be softened by reducing muscular activity. Botulinum Toxin is used to create a fresher and more youthful appearance by causing temporary relaxation of the treated facial muscles
- on the forehead (frown lines)
- vertically or horizontally in between the eyes (brow furrows or
glabellar) and/or - laughter lines around the eyes or the crow's feet
- to correct a "gummy" looking smile.
- in the chin to correct bumpy " Orange Peel" chin
- in the masseter muscles, to help with teeth grinding and slim the face
- in the platysmal bands to reduce the wrinkles on the neck
The procedure is safe, not painful and is quick to perform. It usually takes up to two weeks for the treatment to take effect.
PROFHILO
Profhilo® is a revolutionary moisturising treatment. When injected into skin, Profhilo® stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.
The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for everyone as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.
There is minimal downtime.
Headache Management
Botox® (onabotulinum toxin A) was licensed specifically for the treatment of chronic migraine in July 2010 by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). www.migrainetrust.org
BTX is now used as a preventative treatment for chronic migraine sufferers. Chronic migraine is defined as headaches on at least fifteen days per month (of which at least eight days are with migraine).
How does it work?
BOTOX blocks the release of neuro-transmitters that are linked to causing pain. Neuro-transmitters are chemicals that carry nerve impulses. To prevent headache, Botox blocks these signals from reaching the central nervous system and causing the nerves to become highly sensitive. Botox is given by injection; divided across seven specific head/neck muscle areas.
The recommended re-treatment schedule is every twelve weeks.
Botox® has not been shown to be effective for any other headache type (e.g. episodic migraine, tension-type headache, cluster headache) as yet.
